Posted On Wednesday April 03, 2024

On Tuesday, March 5, students, families, staff, Trustees, community members and government officials came together to celebrate the official opening and blessing of the addition at St. Anne Catholic School in Oshawa.

St. Anne Catholic School opened in September 2020. The school is currently home to approximately 802 Kindergarten to Grade 8 students and 86 staff. Over the past year, a new wing was built at St. Anne Catholic School that created an additional 184 student spaces, through the support of a $4.8 million investment from the Ontario Government. The addition at St. Anne Catholic School in Oshawa opened on Monday, January 8, 2024, and students and staff are now using the eight new classrooms. The addition is designed to provide enhanced learning spaces and accommodate more students, ensuring a positive and enriching educational environment.

A special thank you to all who attended, including Father David Twaddle from St. Joseph the Worker Parish for celebrating the liturgy and blessing of the new addition, and Mr. Robert Cutting, Indigenous Education Circle member, for smudging the new facilities. Our sincere appreciation also goes to the staff and students at St. Anne for their efforts in organizing a beautiful celebration!
